Mercy Corps Travel
January and February were spent traveling throughout India and Nepal with Mercy Corps’ Phoenix Fund donors. Students from Chris Maier’s design class at Mt. Hood Community College created 20 books from the images that were brought back, and 100% proceeds from the sales of these books will go directly to Mercy Corps’ Nepal and India media efforts. A spirited event was held in Kabana Studio on March 20 to showcase the students’ work where 300 people were in attendance. Images from the trip were projected onto a studio wall accompanied by music, wine was donated by Burdigala Wines and food was donated and catered by Phresh Organic Catering. Seventeen of Joni’s images were printed wall size and hung at the Pro Photo Supply store during the months of October, November, December, January and February. George McGinnis is applauded for his Photoshop and printing skills. |
