Statement
These portraits were made at the 2013 Pendleton Round-Up just before or after tribal performances. The clothing that is worn has been passed down from many generations, and it is a great honor for each dancer to wear such historic clothing knowing that it was worn by their ancestor. The clothing carries many stories along with its beauty and purpose.
