Oregon Ballet Theatre: Dancer Portraits

I love when I get to be inside the walls of Oregon Ballet Theatre’s building and watch the heat and fury that arises from the dancers as they practice. It takes enormous focus and energy to perfect those twists and turns and leaps, and to be able to witness trial after trial until they reach their aspirations is a wondrous sight.

I was there to make dancer portraits, and even though they came right from brutal practice to sit before my camera, they each faced the lens with authentic passion in their eyes.

Assignment: Painted Hills Natural Beef

What could be more fun than chasing cowboys on horses?

That is exactly what this assignment required as I captured images for Painted Hills Natural Beef in Fossil, Oregon for their website and social media platforms.

A rancher’s life is wrought with many worries and hardships, and often their hard work is under-appreciated by those who sit down to eat the products they bring to the table. There seems to be a disconnect with where our food comes from, how it was raised, and whether it is even healthy for us to eat. Take a spin on their website to read about the many benefits of natural beef.

And consider making a visit to this lovely area of Oregon!

Vikesh Kapoor’s T-Shirt

Looky! Vikesh Kapoor has used one of the images I took of him to be printed on t-shirts to be sold at his concerts.

I love to see imagery used such as this. What an honor!

Pink Martini + Oregon Balley Theatre

I love shooting for the Oregon Ballet Theatre, and this last shoot was exceptionally fun!

Here are two renditions of the poster they created for this performance.

Photographing Thomas Lauderdale of Pink Martini was a highlight of my career. He was alert, game for anything, and even taught me a lesson or two.

The new poster is out for A Midsummer’s Night Dream!

I loved working on this. The principal dancers (Alison Roper, Brett Bauer) were amazing to work with, and it was an absolute delight to photograph the cupid and butterfly.

Alima Pure

I have been hired as a creative director for an all-natural makeup ad campaign for Alima Pure. We had our first test shoot in the studio last week. I can’t yet unveil the campaign concept, but here are a few fun photos from the shoot!

Just completed a series of photos for the new restaurant, FIN. (Some of the images definitely need contrast boost…not sure why they appear flat in the article.)

If you like raw fish prepared in a delicate manner, you will love FIN!

Gerry Frank is da BOMB! Here he is with one of his famous cakes. (Image was shot originally for 1859 Magazine so I needed to include white space for text.)

His Konditorei in Salem is a lively place, full of wonderful things to eat. It also seems to be a warm gathering place for many wonderful characters.

This image was also blown up life size at The Bite this year. I wish I had been in town to see it!
